Click the Input node for input settings and analysis. The Input meter reads the signal after Trim and EQ; when Noise Reduction is active, the signal has passed through that processing too. Raw DI recording is taken before those input processes.
Input
Choose the device and channel carrying the instrument. Set analog gain at the interface first, then use Trim to balance the digital level entering the rig. Trim does not restore peaks already clipped at the interface.
Global / This preset selects the scope of supported controls. Global can apply across presets; This preset stores settings in that preset. Audio device selection remains part of the local device setup.
Left and right outputs
Left / Out 1 and Right / Out 2 have separate readings. Linked connects changes to supported controls; Independent lets you adjust each channel separately. Linking controls does not sum the channels into mono.
Channel Trim adjusts that channel's level. Master adjusts the final rig level. Mute stops sound; reducing level serves a different purpose. Choose Stereo mix or Separate A/B to match the routing and available physical output channels.
Reading analysis
Overall Peak shows the combined peak. Frequency RMS shows sustained energy; frequency Peak shows brief peaks in each band. Analysis uses 20 bands on a −60 to 0 dBFS scale.
HIGH is a headroom warning. CLIP and LIMIT indicate different detection conditions. A red Peak with lower RMS can come from a short pick attack; the two meters do not always have to use the same color. Frequencies beyond the sample rate's capability are not filled with invented data.
