Reverb

Adds Room, Hall, Plate, or pitched Shimmer ambience.

Controls and parameters

Labels and units follow the controls in the app. The instrument, model, or mode can change which controls are visible.

Decay0 – 10Control scale 0–10; not a distortion percentage or a dB value.Controls the reverb tail's duration character on a 0–10 scale; the number is not an RT60 value in seconds.
Damping0 – 10Control scale 0–10; not a distortion percentage or a dB value.Attenuation of part of a tail as it develops.
Blend0 – 100 %The balance between the original signal and the processed signal.
Width0 – 100 %The stereo spread of reverb ambience, displayed on a 0–100% scale.
Pre-delay0 – 200 msThe initial gap between the direct signal and the start of ambience.

Try listening

Start with Room and a small Blend. Change Decay, Damping, and Pre-delay one at a time. Compare Hall, Plate, and Shimmer, then check Width in stereo and mono.

Things to watch

Long Decay or a large Blend can blur lead notes. Shimmer here is an audio effect with a pitched component.

Open the definition on a control label to understand its function. The same label can mean different things in different effects. Compare the active and bypassed sound at similar levels.
