Controls and parameters
Labels and units follow the controls in the app. The instrument, model, or mode can change which controls are visible.
| Control | Displayed range | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Fuzz | 0 – 10Control scale 0–10; not a distortion percentage or a dB value. | How strongly an effect is pushed into nonlinear response or saturation. |
| Tone | 0 – 10Control scale 0–10; not a distortion percentage or a dB value. | A clear or bright quality related to the distribution of highs and upper mids. |
| Level | 0 – 10Control scale 0–10; not a distortion percentage or a dB value. | The strength of a signal at a point, or a control that changes it. |
| Bias | -1 – 1 | A setting that changes the balance or character of a nonlinear response. |
What is this effect for?
Creates dense saturation with a character influenced by Bias.
Try listening
Play a single note and chords. Change Fuzz and Bias one at a time at comparable output levels. Try different guitar-volume settings and pickups to hear the response.
Things to watch
Fuzz does not always create a perfect square wave. A transfer-curve illustration does not show the percentage of distortion in real playing.
Open the definition on a control label to understand its function. The same label can mean different things in different effects. Compare the active and bypassed sound at similar levels.
