Controls and parameters
Labels and units follow the controls in the app. The instrument, model, or mode can change which controls are visible.
| Control | Displayed range | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Bits | 4 – 16 bit | The number of bits used to represent a sample in a particular format. |
| Sample rate | 1000 – 48000 Hz | The effect's held-sample rate; this does not change the interface sample rate. |
| Blend | 0 – 100 % | The balance between the original signal and the processed signal. |
What is this effect for?
Reduces amplitude resolution and holds samples to create a digital texture.
Try listening
Lower Bits from 16 to 8, then 4. Restore Bits, then test Sample rate separately. Use Blend to choose how prominent the texture should be.
Things to watch
Sample rate in Pixel controls only processing inside the effect. It does not change the interface sample rate or buffer.
Open the definition on a control label to understand its function. The same label can mean different things in different effects. Compare the active and bypassed sound at similar levels.
