What does it mean?
For comparable amplitude or voltage measurements, dB = 20 log10(A2/A1). For power, use 10 log10(P2/P1). Check whether the label means dBFS, dBu, dB SPL, or relative gain.
Example−6 dB means about 0.501 times the original amplitude, not necessarily half the perceived loudness.
