Clipping

Limiting peaks when a signal exceeds a boundary or enters a nonlinear response.

What does it mean?

Unwanted analog or ADC clipping differs from the intentional clipping character of a pedal. A HIGH meter status alone does not prove the waveform has been clipped.

ExampleToo much interface gain can clip the picking transient before it reaches DSP.
