Controls and parameters
Labels and units follow the controls in the app. The instrument, model, or mode can change which controls are visible.
| Control | Displayed range | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Low crossover | 40 – 500 Hz | The transition boundary between frequency regions in processing. |
| High crossover | 600 – 8000 Hz | The transition boundary between frequency regions in processing. |
| Low threshold | -72 – 0 dB | A reference level that triggers a change in processing. |
| Mid threshold | -72 – 0 dB | A reference level that triggers a change in processing. |
| High threshold | -72 – 0 dB | A reference level that triggers a change in processing. |
| Ratio | 1 – 20 :1 | The input-level increase compared with the output-level increase above threshold. |
| Attack | 1 – 200 ms | How quickly the initial change in a process happens. |
| Release | 10 – 2000 ms | How quickly a process recovers as its triggering condition decreases. |
| Makeup | -12 – 18 dB | Gain used to balance level after compression. |
| Blend | 0 – 100 % | The balance between the original signal and the processed signal. |
What is this effect for?
Control low, mid and high dynamics separately.
Try listening
Choose Low/High crossovers, then each band threshold. Ratio and timing are shared, and Makeup is explicit. Compare at a similar listening level.
Things to watch
The crossover is not a microphone or stem simulation. Test low-B response, attack and sustain; louder is not automatically better.
