Controls and parameters
Labels and units follow the controls in the app. The instrument, model, or mode can change which controls are visible.
| Control | Displayed range | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Ceiling | -18 – 0 dB | A limiter's target output limit. |
| Release | 10 – 500 ms | How quickly the limiter's gain recovers after a peak. |
What is this effect for?
Constrains sample peaks with Ceiling and recovers gain through Release.
Try listening
Compare Ceiling at −6 and −3 dB on hard picking and sustained notes. Check any effects after Limiter and the final output meter.
Things to watch
Guard uses sample-peak limiting without lookahead. It does not guarantee true-peak control or restore a signal already clipped at the interface.
Open the definition on a control label to understand its function. The same label can mean different things in different effects. Compare the active and bypassed sound at similar levels.
