Controls and parameters
Labels and units follow the controls in the app. The instrument, model, or mode can change which controls are visible.
| Control | Displayed range | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Attack | 10 – 1500 ms | The time or speed of the rising fade after the envelope opens it. This differs from compressor attack. |
| Release | 20 – 1500 ms | How quickly the fade or envelope falls to release the current swell or prepare for the next one. |
| Threshold | -70 – -10 dB | The envelope level that opens the swell; this is not a musical note detector. |
| Blend | 0 – 100 % | The balance between the original signal and the processed signal. |
What is this effect for?
Creates an automatic fade from the input envelope to soften the pick attack.
Try listening
Set Threshold above the idle level, then compare short and long Attack. Leave gaps by muting the strings between notes. Blend restores some of the original pick attack.
Things to watch
Legato without gaps can keep the envelope open, so not every note receives a new swell. Release is not the length of a Reverb tail.
Open the definition on a control label to understand its function. The same label can mean different things in different effects. Compare the active and bypassed sound at similar levels.
